Seashells
Jet and I were walking to the bus stop the other morning, in the rain, and the world was soaked... and Jet suddenly asked, "Why are there so many sea shells on the sidewalk?"
I looked down, and there were thousands of petals from the cherry and plum trees, opal white with just that glow of pink on the inside of a shell...
"Oh. Those are flower petals."
"How are there so *many* of them?"
I pointed at the trees covered with nearly nothing but blossoms.
"Oh! They're beautiful!"
"Yes, Jet. They are."
