First of all, thank you so much for being willing to extend the fanfic over the 1000 mark! :)
I'd seen your work on interpersonal dynamics before, but this is the first chance I've had to read action scenes of yours as well. I was enthralled! You write action very well, I could so clearly feel what was going on and was caught up in the ride. Are the Shirogane twins anyone in particular? They seem like such clearly defined characters. Either way, poor Fai for facing such a reminder of his own past. No wonder he hesitated a moment too long. :( It's a good thing the battle ended when it did, or we might have two pieces of Fai.
Actually, I really enjoyed the sequences where they interacted with Yasha-ou and the nurse at the hospital. I love seeing other characters appreciate the characters I like. ^_^ Yasha was very convincing... almost chilling how unearthly he seemed. He, too, seemed like a definitely very real character, not just a background note. My favorite line has to be "same soul, different set of problems."
And finally, the sequence with Kurogane caring for Fai... carrying him for treatment, hovering anxiously over him while waiting for the medics, and then afterwards when he was fussing over the sleeping, inured Fai. That was exactly the sweet hurt/comfort atmosphere I was hoping for. Fai's nightmare... and Kurogane reassuring him, even without shared words, that he was there for him. I wibbled.
I am so, so happy that you wrote this fic for me. It was everything I was looking for! Thank you!
