It broke my heart. *sighs*
Even though I won the bet, I think. I did say I thought it was most likely to be Shunsui... and I was very, very glad to see him and see him released. Though I don't think that's his bankai... just his released swords. We'll have to see.
... it just seemed... fair, in the way all the old stories are fair, even as Shunsui's released swords are both capricious and fair along a set of rules that have to be guessed.
But Stark's story just broke my heart. Especially when he says at least give me someone as strong as I am... gods, Shunsui and Stark would be such the pairing. *laughs* I'm in love with Stark for all the same reason I'm glad Shunsui has Ukitake.
I hope. *crosses fingers to not JINX IT, damnit*
But Stark got hit through the heart, too and he's not dead yet, so I have some hope for the white-haired one.

Starrk is a very sympathetic character. I like him a lot. And he and Shunsui make quite a pair (I'd love to see how Jyuushirou would handle the two of them, haha). If any of the Espada could survive I would definitely choose him. Unfortunately, I doubt that's going to happen, since even fan-favorite Ulquiorra has died.
On the other hand, Grimmjow is still out there, and I wouldn't be too surprised if he decided to change colors on us...

I can also daydream about Shunsui and Ukitake surviving the War and running into purified-Starrk in Soul Society at some point in the future, can't I? After all, we were constantly reminded in the early days that the Hollows aren't being killed-for-dead, they're just being purified and kicked onto the next stage of the Wheel . . .

On Ukitake - he's no way dead. Shunsui is far too relaxed about it. Joking with Lisa when his best friend is breathing his last? Not happening. Juu is fine.
On Stark - I'm possibly the only fangirl in the Bleach comm who doesn't mind if Stark dies. It's not that I dislike him, but he's not that...well...interesting a character to watch for me. His techniques have none of them really caught my imagination, although I loved Rose and Love's interplay during that battle. I think it's because he's too like Shunsui. There's just...nothing there for me :| Sorry!! *(hides)*
Although the loneliness flicker was quite interesting simply because I believe Shunsui was quite lonely before he met Juu...
In my view, whether Stark is or isn't dead now, Shunsui began it and Shunsui should be the one to take him down. Only Shunsui. Juu got involved and got in the way, basically. This is Shunsui's battle. Juu's is yet to come.

Yeah, I have to agree that Shunsui's relaxation about Jyuushiro is a very fine indicator. Yeah, Stark's techniques aren't that unique nor are they particularly fascinating. I did like Rose and Love's interplay. Hee. He's an interesting reflection of Shunsui.
I agree totally about how much Stark is like Shunsui, if Shunsui didn't have Ukitake.
Yeah, this part is definitely Shunsui's. I do like the idea of Jyuushiro only having a part if Lilinette comes to the fore...

Also...Rose and Love are far from out of the game too. They're a bit dusty and ragged but they've not lost the release forms of their weapons and we've not got them to bankai yet, either.
...I have a feeling something bigger is definitely in the offing O.o
