Low Price Turkeys
Nov. 27th, 2002 05:25 pmI'm mildly curious...
Locally, we have turkeys up to 16 pounds for just $4, 16-25 for $5, and 25 and over for $7. I don't remember seeing these kinds of prices in California or Washington, but things may have changed.
I'm just curious if folks in other places have these kinds of specials for Thanksgiving?

This shed some light on the situation for me.
Date: 2002-11-27 04:44 pm (UTC)I bought a 15 pounder for $6 here. I'm going to buy another one to have in a few months. Frozen turkeys keep for a good long while. :)

Date: 2002-11-28 12:51 pm (UTC)Ralphs has store brand turkeys for $.39/lb if you buy $20 or more worth of other stuff, or free if you buy $75 or more worth of stuff. Safeway has up to 16 lb turkeys for 4.99, and up to 2 lb turkeys for 7.99. Albertsons has Buy One Get One Free on turkeys.
I have always had deals for cheap or free turkeys as long as I can remember in California (so, about a decade). We bought four turkeys so far (one to eat, one to save, and we gave two to Crisis Nursery). Happy turkey day to you!
