Losing someone even indirectly to suicide is a big deal, and it can be rudder-impairing, that's for sure. I'm really happy that you are at peace with having to take time - it's one of the hardest things to do. Mind you, there'd be nothing wrong if you were suddenly scrambling on a new project or in a new direction, but it's really good that you can be at peace without that.

Gaming is an interesting thing - at one point, I heard that "sport" wasn't so much about doing interesting things involving a ball, but about entertainment. A "good sport" is someone who tries to make the game entertaining. A good player gives odds, a bad player never gives up and tries to make the better player fight for the win. Gaming is a wonderful way of moving that to the modern world, and a way to engage in lively, amazing-to-watch sport even without the physical capabilities.

But you're right - gaming is also a risk because it's far too easy to chase a game goal and forget life goals.
