If you learned to knit with your feet, it'd cut the time in half! Or provide 'hand-breaks' without stopping progress.

Plus, it'd be a conversation starter at parties. "Oh, what a nice sweater! Where'd you get it?" "I knitted it with my feet." How can that not lead to a worthwhile dialogue?

Yeah. I already set a timer for when I'm typing. It shouldn't be all that different.

I'm trying to knit a baby blanket at the moment, and doing pretty well about setting it aside after a 'reasonable' amount of time. Jet's helping a lot by getting intrigued with the knitting basket every time I have it out and I can't go at it for too long. So I have hope!

So I should now just add an egg timer to my knitting/spinning basket. *grin*

The cool thing about the color patterns is that you just have to know when to swap colors. You can just know a single stitch (the knit)and be able to do these kinds of things.

It's true! Looking at that sweater inspired me to go and dig up this cross-stitch pattern I've had for ages and give it another try. Ordered a yard of Aida as all the in-store packages are too small. ...Maybe I should do an Utena rose or something as a smaller project first, though.

Glad you're still knitting and haven't had to give up making beautiful things altogether!

Daaaaaamn. That is a sweater!

You know how to knit well enough to make that? I wail that you are not closer so that I could bug you with my dumb beginner questions. I am making a "wrap," (not ready for sleeves yet!) or I would be if I could ever ever get the gauge right. I may have to buy an extra skein of yarn, having worn out one trying to hit the gauge.

With a wrap, would the gauge matter that much? Just kind of wondering if it has to fit exactly...

But feel free to ask me any questions here, if you like, though some things really have to be shown rather than written... but I'd try to be especially descriptive, if you liked.

I don't think the gauge has to be dead-on, but if I don't want to use 300 skeins in one item, I'd better loosen up to something approximating the gauge. I'm just a *little* tense.

Thanks for the offer of help, but, yes, a lot of my dumbness is because I am getting my information online or from books. Print is not good for conveying information about knitting. Not that I won't pipe up if I hit a particularly befuddling issue.
