At Cold Stone...
Feb. 24th, 2005 08:55 am... the ice cream store, as Jet calls it. He insists that ice cream at the ice cream store is NOT a Treat (i.e. you don't have to eat a good meal before eating it, all treats require that one eat dinner or lunch or breakfast (all of which he calls "dinner") before them).
Anyway, we were there, and there was an older couple at the table next to ours, and when the guy went off to wash his hands, the lady smiled at Jet, who was smiling at her, and said, "Hi!"
Jet grinned big and said, "Hi! I'm Jet. I have my daddy." He put a small hand on John's arm. "This is my daddy John, and my mommy, Phyllis."
He did the introductions quite graciously and her jaw, like mine, dropped at the completeness of it. She smiled and said, "I'm Gail, glad to meet you."
Jet gave a nod and said, "I'm glad to meet you, too!" and then jumped down from his seat and ran around a bit, more like a "normal" kid, giggling.
Gail explained that she and her husband had kids in college and it'd been a long time since she'd gotten to speak to someone who was four. When they left, she left saying, "Enjoy him."
John and I chorused, "We will."
