Getting Up
Oct. 23rd, 2008 09:57 amFor the last three days, I've tried to not just "sit at the computer".
I've gotten back into bad work habits for the last month or so, and just sat at the computer even when I was too tired to really write, or didn't have enough brain to do so. I would mostly sit and surf and get frustrated with myself as my upper body's doing the whole overuse thing again. Tendon's swelling, muscles aching, and the nerves were starting to buzz again at the end of the last huge haul of getting the last installment of "Silver and Black" out.
( So I've stopped. )

More Dabbling...

incandescens was kind enough to give me a few prompts for her birthday painting, so I tried. *laughs* This should give her a chance to lay claim on which ones she wants. And gogoangelgunboy should take a peek at the last one, in case he wants to lay claim to it.I found a roll of classical Double Shuen and the texture and paint and water take up of it is very, very much more absorbent than the practice paper or the roll of straight rice paper I had. I also found a roll from China that I think my mother gave me that scares me a little, as the texture is beautifully rough. This, I think, gave me a good feel for what that might be the next step towards.

There's a few less interesting kimono I have, too, but I'd forgotten I had a very plain quilted one that I love to pieces. Literally. I have to resew the shoulder seams, I think, and it'll be useable again this winter. Happy me.
