High Praise

Captured to be sure that I remember...

When John went to get Jet from pre-school the other day, he asked Miss Tony how Jet was. She told him that "Jet is very self-assured."

High praise when that's what we've aimed for all his life.

I have a self-assured little boy. Wow.

I hope you remember this, too (21 December 2000):

"I can raise a creature who is independent, polite, and socially proficient. Someone that isn't afraid of things, can trust others but still defend himself, and who can believe that the world is a great place."

Went back and read that and I still miss Fezzik.

But, yeah. It's... amazing... to have that reinforced again. And Jet is certainly independent, polite, and more socially inclined and proficient than I. He's not afraid of things, people, or trying the things he really wants to try. I've seen him defend himself, and seen Jet trust others totally and it's obvious he thinks the world is pretty cool, on the most part...

So it's a pretty amazing thing to remember and realize that I have a part in it. That amazes me, still.
