Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] tagryn (through ceej's blog), for pointing me at this:

From Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Perfumes

http://www.blackphoenixalchemylab.com/neverwhere.html.
This series is a tribute to the literary corpus of the inimitable Neil Gaiman. His works have been an enormous influence on our lives, and we are honored to be able to present our interpretations of the characters, locations, and concepts within the worlds that he has created.

What interests me is that the *link* says "neverwhere", whereas there are no Neverwhere scents, yet.

Mmmm... good smelling *and* for a good cause, too. The Spider scent really appeals, all that citrus...

BPAL cracks me up. All those very creative descriptions of scent... but I still don't know what they smell like. :D

I want a Neverwhere line for men, for that true, London Train Tunnel scent.

*giggles* "Mind the Gap" is what it should be called. *grin*

[livejournal.com profile] telophase often reviews BPAL scents - she mentioned the Gaiman-inspired scents but I don't think she's reviewed those. She also has a really interesting series of articles on manga analysis that shows why Fruits Basket is so good, for example.

Crazy Hair would make a good scent.

I joined a LJ decant circle to get a sample of each. Anything Gaiman is good, and I like where the money is going for this line... There are some early reviews on www.bpal.org already. (I'm so olifactory I can visualize in-the-bottle from the description pretty well, but since everyone's body chemistry is different the proof is in the wearing...)

Now I want them to bring out a Charles de Lint-themed line of scents...

I think you want their "Black Ice" for that. It's supposed to be redolent of "ozone and asphalt." No stagnant drains undertones, though.
