Or something like that.

John and Jet consulted with each other and since my original Mother's Day present hadn't worked out (a European set of headlamps for my Passat), they went in together and bought me a Kitchen Aid stand mixer. They had gone off, together, to Kohl's to get it while I worked happily, alone in the house. Jet had a hard time following John out of the store while John was holding the mixer, so John got inventive and put the mixer, in box, on the floor, perched Jet on it, and then pushed the box out with Jet riding, in state, on the box. Jet loved it. He also stayed right on the box and waved his parade princess wave at everyone that he rode by. There was much admiration.

In the ensuing weekend, John made four batches of chocolate chip cookies. I made a chocolate cake, a loaf of banana bread, and there's cheesecake makings in the fridge. There's also rumors of pizza for dinner. We're enjoying the new acquisition happily.

I should invite you all over sometime for the cheesecake. I haven't quite gotten to it, yet, but it would certainly be fun.

Oooh! Cheesecake. :) I'm sure you wouldn't get any arguments from this front. O:)

sniff! My kitchenaid is hidden, forlorn, somewhere in the depths of my storage unit! sniff!

I *heart* my KitchenAid stand mixer. you'd have to pry it from my cold dead hands. :-)

I am, sincerely, starting to see why. It's just so darned *easy* to make things, now. Pizza dough with so much gluten that the window forms easily after just ten minutes with the hook and it's still moist enough to get a great rise. The stupid Italian meringue, with the hot syrup juggling with whipped egg whites right at the right stiffness, was a snap compared to doing it with a hand-mixer. Makes a *great*, low-fat dessert with some excellent, melted bittersweet chocolate folded in. Chocolate chip cookies are now just throwing together ingredients and no wrestling with floury dough.

Even the low-fat stuff I'm making instead of buying is so much easier to just do, so I'm not tempted to buy things simply 'cause they're off the shelf. The stuff I make tastes better and it's now easy enough to just do it instead of angsting about it.

I'm really liking this

Ted and I keep convincing ourselves we don't *need* a Kitchen Aid. Dooooo not tempt the Kit! :)
