Meeting Up Again

I slept until 11.
I needed it. *laughs* My breakfast was another of those lovely bialy, the last of the scrambled eggs from everyone else's breakfast, blueberries, and three cups of coffee.
I needed that, too.
After everyone else had lunch we went to a little swimming hole with a waterfall called Pike's Falls running into it. It wasn't snow melt anymore, thank goodness, just cool rain run off. There was a small walk to the pool and Isabel, David, Anne, John, Jet and I all went. I just waded about, walking about on the rocks and enjoying the cool of the water, but the boys swam quite happily and jumped and slid off the wet rocks into the water as well.
It was deep enough that jumping was safe.
It was a good break on a hot day, and when we got back to the Inn, Leo and his mom, Joanne had shown up, as had Kirdan, Anne and David's son. So we all filed into the Inn and said hi! Isabel, Joanne, and Anne made cakes, muffins, brownies, lemon bars, and other goodies all at once in the kitchen and then tackled dinner just before Walt and Cathie showed up.
All eleven of us had a wonderful dinner of kashi seven grain, lamb chops and butterflied leg of lamb, and salad. It was really wonderful, marinated for a few days, it was deeply delicious. And the dessert was a lovely strawberry rhubarb crisp made from a rhubarb plant that Anne's father Walt (John's Uncle Walt that died in the spring) had given to her as a small plant. So that was really nice.
It also came with vanilla or black raspberry ice cream, though they also had root beer ice cream, and Jet decided he really wanted that. It was really quite good, and is made by a big, local dairy that burned down when they first moved here, but then they brought it back, which is all to the good.
We mostly just sat and talked and talked and talked, and it was all to the good. When Jet asked to play Apples to Apples, though, it was nearly 11 pm. So I took him up to put him to bed and he went right to sleep as it's his Colorado bedtime and I'll hope he doesn't get up too early in the morning. I need to get to sleep, too... good thing the night's cooled off nicely.
G'night!
