My Parents Are Here...

And... it's been cool, so far. I think that after all the negotiations and communication and all that other shit over the last year plus, it's actually done a lot of good. They now listen to Jet, especially now that he's talking more, and can communicate, very clearly, if they got it right or wrong. The role of indulgent grandparents has really made them much better at responding to what Jet really wants and they're doing pretty famously.

Jet loves playing with my father, and it's really made Dad happy. After just one afternoon and morning, Jet actually runs after my Dad to get him to play with him, even with me in the room!!

I'm really glad if Jet getting over another period of separation anxiety from me coincides with wanting time with his grandparents. Yay!!

The Red Wings just creamed a really sad looking Avalanche team on Friday. Roy had an off day, like many of his off days, it was a complete blow out. He had six goals scored on him with only 16 shots. NOT that his defense helped him any in the first period, they were giving away the puck feet away from the goal. Ouch.

I'd been hoping, with their record on seventh games, that they might offer a fight, but they really showed the wear and tear of three seventh games in a row. No breaks at all these playoffs, and the Red Wings just kept taking advantage of every fumble, mistake, and loss of concentration. It was pretty sad, but it certainly made for very calm viewing.

The Pool of Death has Nigeria, Switzerland, England, and Argentina, all of which have contending teams, so it's going to be a really bloody fight in there. I managed to tape the Nigerian/Argentinean conflict and it's very sweet to watch. Nigeria also has the really fast game that I love, and Argentina is very South American in its play and it's really fun seeing the two styles fighting it out.
