Oh! Yeah, I sent out some of the tea yesterday. With plastic liners in a normal, business-sized envelope with normal postage. I'm hoping it reaches people okay! I had plenty of the tea, and it may arrive more smashed up than whole, but it should still taste okay...

[livejournal.com profile] greenlion recently introduced me to Kalahari (http://www.kalahariusa.com)'s red tea, made from the South African "rooibos" plant. It's delicious if a little strange.

Yeah! I've been drinking it for a while, when I need an evening cuppa and don't want to deal with the caffeine. I really like it with orange peel and cinnamon or vanilla or just plain. Nice stuff.

Hee. Da Lion keeps handing me cups or slipping me a spare teabag or two. Today's sample is "Honeybush." She is a kind and helpful lion.

Oooo! Tell me how you like the honeybush! I haven't tried that, yet, and peer at it now and again, just wondering what it's like.

Hmmm. Well, I lack your palate, but I'll try. It is not, as I expected, sweeter than the regular red tea. It does have a slightly different taste, more of an undercurrent, really. Hmm, faintly "herby" maybe? No, not quite that. Hmmm. It has the same pleasant smell, but the taste doesn't quite match the smell.

(I'm sitting here, nose in my tea cup, trying to figure out how to describe this stuff. I'm sure my coworkers, if they ever bothered about me, would find me quite insane.)

I like it, but I think I like the regular red tea better (the chai is delicious, too), even though this isn't very different from the regular tea.

This is what you get, having an orange monkey tea-taste for you.

Mmm... that's what I do when I sniff and sip! *grin*

Thank you! That's what I wanted, as I wondered if it seemed as good, for you, as the red tea was. Mmm... chai.
