But on Saturday, the guy that saw the house when the fixture started to smoke gave us an offer. We pretty much spent the weekend in rather fierce negotiations, and ended up, last night, signing a contract. It still rather astonishes me that thousands of dollars can be had simply for the asking, so long as one is brave and asks...
It's just the first step in the month-long trip to closing on the house, but we've done that first, big step. Someone actually loved the house enough that they wanted to pay us money for it, and I still can't believe that the house has only been on the market for eight days and we're in contract.
We're in contract.
