There's something, for me, that's addictive about data diving, about searching out everything available on a particular subject. It's just fun and enthralling, to sit and read and read and read information about something at all levels. High, low, general, detailed, and structural. I love gathering it all up and building my own mental model/map of the intellectual territory and taking into account often contradictory accounts, opinions, and ideas. I enjoy it, immensely. I hate making decisions based on the data, as I am, so often, more interested in What Is? than in What Is Better? Maybe it's the Taoist in me. But the gathering is as comfortable as a hot bath. I just relax into it and absorb.

I love having a strength...

This is one of the many joys of my life and why I loved working for Ask Jeeves Kids, where my entire day consisted of doing precisely this on the Internet. In the early days, the chatter around the office was often predeeded by, "Did you know...?" Sadly, we Jeeviants made insufferable dinner companions, because the very wide-eyed wonder that made us so good at our jobs is not as endearing in one's 20s and 30s as it is when one is 6 or 7.

But if you needed to know everything there was to know about Prester John, verily, I was your man.

This is one of the things about you that I love the most and met the earliest. I remember one dinner when we were sitting around and I made some joke about why the ocean was salty and you said "Actually..." and explained the entire salination process to me.

Luckily I ended up finding that I could kick your ass at Crash Bandicoot.

We all have our strengths I guess :)

It's true! You could!

Yay! Strengths!

Have you ever taken the Strengths Finder test (https://www.strengthsfinder.com/)? Would you want to? I love actually KNOWING I HAVE STRENGTHS!

Hee.
