the CO2 froth from really freshly roasted coffee.

This morning, a few folks at work were interested in watching me roast coffee, so I had brought my setup in, and roasted for folks, and I'd been reading about how much froth there can be on really freshly roasted coffee and that it can be a bother in a press pot maker. It was fun to watch it all froth up in the drip filter and to actually be able to drink my coffee black was marvelous. Didn't hurt that I was roasting Jamacian Blue Mountain coffee, reputed to be one of the smoothest in the world (some folks call that 'bland', I like it well enough, though) to a Dark City roast, as I like the caramel overtones at that level of roasting.

I have a Panamanian Best in Cup winner that's aged the requist 48 hours, maybe I'll try that next.

No need to run off and buy myself a way too expensive carton of milk. Yay!

Sigh. I applied for a job in Boulder while I was out of work. I could be mooching off Liralen-coffee RIGHT NOW.

You could have!! :-)

Though, the complete lack of real culture here and lack of really interesting things to do and the lack of lots of solid ties with your past would probably have driven you a little despondent as well.

I think the best thing about knowing you're back in the Boston area was reading about the Red Sox this last year. That was just so wonderful, and I would NEVER in a million years have wished you anywhere else for that. :-) And, heck, I can SEND you roasted coffee, express, if you wanted. And the home roaster site actually recommends that the Blue Mountain coffee gets even better body if it's allowed to gas-out for 24 hours.

Oooo.

It's interesting, actually -- it's completely possible that after recharging in Boston for a couple of years, I'm ready to be elsewhere again. I suspect that my perfect cycle would involve two years in Boston to charge up, then five or so years elsewhere. Rinse and repeat.

Well. Perfection would be a condo in Cambridge, a condo in San Francisco, and no need to report to work. As long as I'm dreaming.

Ooo. That would be very cool.

Yay for perfection! I like dreaming, it's fun. :-) I want to live back in Seattle again, and not have to work, either. It would be very cool.

I think I could drink that description without even tasting the coffee.
