Busier than Bees

Damnit. Hm. Ran around a lot, yesterday, getting the very last things
with Jet for our trip. Not a lot to get (a replacement lens for the one
that scratched my eye and Jet's "Japanese sprinkles"), which was good.
Amazon delivered my 256 M cards for $25 each in 2 days. Yeah, yeah, I know, I can get 2Gig cards, now, but these little guys are fast, and it takes me a week or two to really fill one, tinycam videos and all.
The new icon is a portrait Jet took of me, along with his grandparents and John.
Jet likes Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the book, because it has a Grandpa George and a whole factory that does chocolate.
The throat seems, now, to not be a cold, but a combination of allergies (the super-special thermalfoam pillow I was using, it seems), snore damage, and talking way too much the last two weeks. We had a pub gathering last night, and since I talked way too much, too loud, my throat hurt so much before going to bed that I had to take two ibuprofin and hope. It's better, mildly, now, but with 2000 miles to go and most of it in blessed silence, I have some hope that I'll get better.
We're mostly packed, right now, so we're about to go. I'll have my Visor, but entries on that won't get on here until I'm back. We'll likely hit ehubs along the way. If any of you East Coast folks want a Jet visit, feel free to use my livejournal email address to make contact.

Date: 2005-07-14 09:03 pm (UTC)As a kid I was allergic "to everything under the sun, including sunlight"... molds, dust and dust mites, pollens from every type of plant and especially grasses and trees, nearly every animal they tested for but especially horses and cats (which I both loved), chocolate, and mosquito bites always swelled up to be about golfball-sized. Sunlight would make my skin break out in a rash if I stayed outside for more than ten minutes and didn't use sunscreen.
It's better now. Whew.

Date: 2005-06-28 02:18 pm (UTC)Gonna be in PGH for a while after that. Maybe Eastern PA for a weekend or so in the very near future but otherwise at home. Get in touch through a posting on my byzantine_ruins journal if you're in the vicinity.
I like the shirt. =)

Date: 2005-07-14 09:05 pm (UTC)Sorry I missed you! And, yes, I got the box. You doing the usual being at WW for a while and then home to work for a while? Or are you leaving for good or something? Don't know much of what's going on in your life anymore... sniff.

Date: 2005-07-15 06:12 am (UTC)I'm left for good. Five years of Exalted was enough. I'm formally gone from the company now. My longtime editor is now running the show. I'm at loose ends but not for long, I think. I have a lot of side projects I've promised myself to do, some of which might even make money. =)

I am online frequently at the AIM IM address byzantineruins. It's been a very exciting life. I use Trillian with crypto sessions enabled. Is there some method you'd prefer over that?

Date: 2005-07-19 03:20 am (UTC)It's good to know that when that happens! Yay! And it's very, very cool to keep ones promises to oneself. I may do that myself, someday. :-)
I don't use IMs, yet. I would probably have the same hand problems I had with chats and MUSHs, but it would probably be okay to stop by for a little while. I'll figure it out.
Yay for exciting lives!!

Date: 2005-07-21 12:50 am (UTC)I hope you do! Carl and I had a very grave conversation at Origins that you aren't having enough fun yet. =)

Okay. I look forward to seeing you. =)

You should really stop by and hear the tales, especially the recent ones.

Date: 2005-07-25 04:52 pm (UTC)I have to agree with both of you. I think that while my job uses my real strengths to the max, I think it's going to kill me if I do it for too long. Maybe a year or two to ride the next wave for this particular company, and then I'm out, I think, so that I can just have fun for a while. I keep wanting to visit Carl, but I never seen to figure out WHEN... blah.
