There's a picture of just the wool as well on Flickr. He, of course, wants socks out of it.

It looks like he's holding a brightly coloured stuffed squid or jellyfish or octopus!

Very, very adorable.

Ooo! True! He does look like that. I hadn't thought of it that way. *grin*

Thank you!

That is the most gorgeous wool I've ever seen. My favorite colors. Jet must be as proud as can be. Please post a picture when you've spun it into yarn.

I loved reading about the whole process of dyeing the wool. I am going to do that one of these days.

I mostly used this on-line article on now to paint roving (http://gfwsheep.com/rov.inst/rov.inst.html).

I don't think I squeezed enough of the soaking water out, I think, as when we were done, when I rolled things up there was a *lot* of dye water rolling out, too. I wasn't sure what to do with that, or if I should have just been a lot more conservative about how much of the painting dye I put on.

I like how it turned out, though.

It is! Amazingly so. I worried a little about how long to steam it as boiling water, here, doesn't get as hot as down at sea level, so I let it go for an hour. And a lot of unfixed turquoise came out. So I'm very glad that it ended up as solid as it did.

And, yes, he's very proud of it. There's a lot in there. I'm contemplating felted mittens out of it.

You know, that almost makes me want to commission Jet to paint roving. =)

*grin* And we have BFL, superwash merino, plain superwash if you don't mind a yellow undertone to whatever color scheme you wanted, and good old corridale. The last two would be around $2.50 an ounce dyed, the first two would be more like $4 an ounce dyed plus postage.

And, hey, if you order before DunDraCon, I could just bring it in my luggage and Earl could pick it up. :-)
