When making Alton Brown's overnight steel cut oats with dried blueberries and cherries instead of dates and cranberries remember to use a slow cooker liner as well as that extra cup of water for altitude. Cleaning the darn thing the next evening took THREE scrubbings. *sigh*

But it was quite good.

Oh, ooh, thank you for the idea of dried blueberries! I'm a lazy sort with instant oatmeal (though I bought some steel-cut yesterday, because there's too much packaging with the instant), but have been adding dried cherries, which are tasty. But today, I tried the blueberries, and damn, that's great--I like variety!

Also, glad to hear the hat worked out so well, I'm only sorry I didn't size it properly for your own noggin! ^_^

*giggles* Given that you didn't know my noggin-size, it was quite good!! :-)

Yay! Blueberries! I love 'em in regular oatmeal, even. I love the dried cherries and strawberries and stuff. Yum...

Many people are surprised by the size of Liralen's head, but it only makes sense when you consider how much brain is stuffed in there!

Also, anything that leads to Jet jumping up and down and up and down and up and down can only be good (I can safely say from two states away) and perhaps there will be bonus giggles if someday Liralen & Jet see the episode of Azumanga Daioh with Osaka's musings about Chiyo-chan's pig tails.

Now I'll have to see if I can *find* that. *grin*

If you don't have a removable crock that you can plonk into the dishwasher, then you fill the crock with water to the brim, put in a drop of dish detergent, turn it back on, and when you get home it will have soaked itself clean.

I did fill it with water and soap to soak all day, but it was still nasty. *sigh* I'll try the turn-it-on trick next time!

thank you!

Yeah, thermalness helps, similarly to cleaning an oven with heat on.
