Got the drops this morning.  Yay!!

The lady at the pharmacy in Target found that the Good Days pharmacy was closed for the weekend.  So she called Pfeiffer's office and he wasn't there, but another doctor was, so they changed the prescription... *laughter*  So it's back to the old pink eye antibiotic drops from B&L.  $4 a bottle. Thank God, as the stuff that Pfeiffer had originally prescribed they didn't stock, either and it's a big pharmacy, and I was mildly worried that it'd be hundreds of dollars as it was so darn rare.  The lady at the super Target pharmacy worked really hard to get it right for me, so I'll likely use them in all future things.  Their hours are much better than the Good Days pharmacy.

Anyway... we went out to IHOP to use Jet's free meal he'd earned from the library and while my teeth started to hurt again, a single ibuprofen took care of it pretty quickly and it's definitely teeth in front of the crown, not the crown itself anymore.  My bite is shifting, so it'll take it a little while to figure it all out.

The drops have dropped the level of aching in my left eye, just with one use.  So that's to the good.  The post-nasal drip from the eyes made me think I had a cold last night, but when I sit up it nearly all goes away.  John was up at 4am this morning, just awake.  So he's now sacked out on the kitchen floor, where he'd lain down after fixing one of Jet's Lego efforts.  He looks very comfortable and is snoring away happily.  So a bit of peace for the moment. 

Another good thing is that Paul found Jet's stuffy at the cabin.  The other family had found him under the bed in the loft, so he was sitting on the couch waiting for them when they got there this weekend.  :-)  How cool.  Seltzer will soon be making his own little trip back to us.  Jet's happy to have him back, but he was sleeping okay without him up to now. 

It's also amusing me way too much that our local *grocery store* has the last Harry Potter book on sale for less than Target and most of the chain bookstores.  The power of Kroger, I guess.  I guess I'll have to get it and read it.  I haven't liked the last two, but the reviews have been good.  This may be the *only* United States edition of her books I get, unless anyone knows of any differences between the UK edition and the US edition.  The last several I've ordered from amazon.uk or gotten from friends in the UK or, in the case of the Philosopher's Stone, I went there and bought it there.

If you want the UK version, you can save money and order the Canadian version - it's the same as the UK one (including the covers). The only difference I've found between the two versions (and I've only read the 1st book in both versions) is that the language is changed (ie sellotape=scotch tape; shan't=won't, etc)

I did that with the Half-Blood Prince. I like the British language it was written in better. Yes, the first book was pretty different in the terms. So I may well just order a Canadian one this time as well, so I know they won't have fudged it.

I've heard that they stopped doing the British-English/American-English translation in the later books... certainly the U.S. editions I read started having references to "trainers" and "jumpers" and whatnot in the more recent ones.

I can't say that I admire the covers of the U.S. editions... but there's an aphorism on that topic.

John picked up a copy at the grocery store. *laughter* So at least I know I don't have to get TWO. :-)

I liked that in the UK the last couple of books had 'adult' covers as well as the kids' cover, so that adults could take the books on the plane or bus and not have people instantly know they had a Harry Potter book. *laughter* Says something about the market. *grin*

Add "snogging" to the list of British words in the U.S. editions. There was a passing reference to the "Sorcerer's Stone" in this latest book, which must have required an edit from the U.K. version; but they're kinda stuck with that one.

As for covers, I haven't noticed that stopping anyone around here... I saw several people reading it on the bus Monday morning.

Heck, on Saturday I saw some teenager at a bus stop wearing his "tough kid" outfit -- pants halfway down his butt, black hoodie, etc. -- reading the book. I admit to having been amused :)

Personally, I like to send all of our prescriptions to the same pharmacy. That way there's a backup precaution, because they know all the meds that I'm taking and can flag any interaction (since I'm seeing several physicians and also trying to make sure they keep up with what everybody else is prescribing). But since we have decent prescription coverage, shopping around for the best price isn't really a concern. A couple of times when they didn't have what I needed, they called around and found a (competing) pharmacy that did have it and sent the prescription there for me.

None of us have on-going meds, so it might be less of a problem or something.

They called around for me, too, but no one was carrying this stuff and everyone thought it a mite... exotic... for pink eye, basically. So they gave me the old standard and it's worked for me before. So I'm not arguing with the change. We'll see...

He really likes Seltzer!

We were afraid to tell him that we'd left him behind until now. Jet's not at the "I can't sleep without him" stage. But he's definitely "I'm sad when he's not here." He does miss the little guy and does find comfort in snugging up with him when Seltzer's around.

Seltzer is very well pilled and loved. *grin*

Oh, yeah, and Jet has dozens of stuffed animals and things that he could have chosen from, too, everything from a stuffed Wallace to a sock monkey, from Curious George to fuzzy bears of all kinds. But he's really only attached to Seltzer. *grin*
