It's supposed to be 50 today!! Yesterday was 40 something, and I got spring fever bad...

But tomorrow supposed to be 20's and snowing, so I'll settle down again.

But I gotta get seed from Burpee for the "spring"... which can start, here, in February. Yeesh... at least for spinach and lettuce and radishes and stuff...

That early? In *Colorado*?

Hey, weren't you guys going to move to Portland at some point, or am I misremembering?

Well, some things can start that early, not a lot, though. But I found that the spinach and lettuces really are astonishingly hardy.

Wow, those temperature changes are going to really heave the ground. Not good for a lot of plants, unfortunately. Hopefully, the freeze/thaw cycle will be minimal.

Absolutely, right now.

By February, though, it'll be more 30's and 40's with a few plunges down and more snow, hopefully. And more precip than the summer. March is better, all around, for the early starters, and most of them can take some frosting pretty easily. But I don't put tomatoes or things out until May. *grin* But I can start them earlier and there's plenty of sunshine even indoors for that. Whew.

I have the spring Territorial Seed Company catalog and have already chosen some things. Isn't it fun? This is what I always buy for lettuce.

"Wild Garden Lettuce Mix. Instant lettuce diversity for cut salads or fresh market sales. This mix is a vast assortment of literally dozens of varieties, including selections of lettuce that remain unnamed and not available anywhere else than in this unique mix. If you discover a certain selection that you are especially fond of, let a few plants go to seed, and save your own. Bred by Frank Morton, Gathering Together Farm. Packet $4.75"
