For [livejournal.com profile] amberley's suggestion that I try to draw Kurogane and Fai in the same pose as Syaoran and Sakura and I... uhm... couldn't, quite... they just refused to touch foreheads. *laughter*

I Tried!!!

And then I tried to get something else out of my head, but I didn't do quite so well, things are skewed, that three-quarters turn of the head is hard to draw... But the face on the angel thingy wasn't *right* and I think I got closer to Faber, and he pulled Cahliah with him... *sigh* At least an attempt at a Vessel. It's only a Vessel, right?

Awww. I do like the cut of Faber's cheekbones, and the set of Calia's mouth.

*beam*

I'll keep trying. It's hard to translate emotion into something concrete. Steel and gaunt and grey into flesh and bone. *grin*

It's more fun, sometimes, to leave things in writing...

But, yes... Calia would have that determined set to her mouth. *grin* No matter the other trappings of the Vessel.

Much coolness! (And amusement with the upper pair. That is so their expressions!)

Early morning. Bethbrain dormant. Words all fuzzy.

Yay! I was thinking that it was very much like them if they ever did get that close together. *laughter*

Usually, I think of the two of them as back to back against something really, really scary or facing out from the group protecting the two kids. It's rare that they're face to face, unless Fai-san just teased Kurogane-kun into yelling at him.

Very expressive! Nice job. Are you using one of the books you've made to draw in?

Thank you!! No, I'm actually using a $5 sketch book from Borders, it's 8 1/2 by 11 and has pretty good quality paper. I have to put a sheet between pages when I ink and when I scan stuff, so that things behind don't come through. But the paper doesn't actually bleed at all, so the inks do pretty well on the surface.

I've also got art board for when I get more confident from doing the other drawings, but that's not for a while, yet.

I might just go digital after the initial ink drawings, like the two above, and get some tints and things I can just layer on. The black in Kurogane's hair would have been easier with that.
