Ideas that Lock On
Jan. 26th, 2008 11:56 amDamn damn damn...
I can't get this idea/image of Shunsui in a pink pinstrip Zoot suit out of my head. Maybe with Jyushirou in a silver suit next to him... maybe not. Shunsui'd have to have the white hat and red feather... and I KNOW I'm not up to drawing that, yet. Damn... I guess it's a reason to practice.
The moms. I have to do the moms first...

Date: 2008-01-27 05:42 pm (UTC)The outermost and obvious is the long coat, its surface a muted window pane plaid pattern that interweaves pale lavender and pale green over a baby girl pink background. It is the undeniable foundation of a zoot suit, the broad-shouldered and wide-lapelled jacket flowing down to just past his knees. Upon the left lapel of the jacket, a distinctive cubic zirconia pin boasts the letters 'EZ' formed from gemstones, followed by a rose of black jet, and then the letter 'P' in the same zirconia gems.
A crisp, mandarin-collared shirt of pure pink satin can be seen emerging from the neckline V, shimmering in any striking light. From beneath the jacket pants flow loosely down to just past his knees, where they taper into a cuffed tip, a pale lavender in shade. Argyll socks can be briefly glimpsed entering the low shape of wingtip shoes, crafted of crocodile skin in a dual shade of pale pink and ghost gray. To top off his attire, a rakishly angled center dent hat of cream silk with a pink triple pleat hatband hides much of his jet black hair.
If your zoot suit aspirations turn out well, maybe I'll talk with you about drawing some of Artemus (my character) for me?

Date: 2008-01-28 04:19 am (UTC)I commissioned someone who's actually quite good to do one for me. I'll try eventually, but for now I'm too impatient...

Date: 2008-01-28 12:37 pm (UTC)The game I was playing on closed a few months back, but I'm determined to eventually get the drawing I have in mind done. Maybe I'll try your artist if I like the finished product! I've been through three different people promising to do it, and then not. Wish I had the skills to do it myself. One of those was even a paid commission, who sadly got a full time job offer and had to stop doing commissions and refund my money. Someday, however, I will conquer. :D
The character was a "Chinopolish" Gypsy magician/actor/semi-reformed thief/con artist/circus performer. I think he was the only character on the game who couldn't shoot a pistol. His greatest combat distinction was having conducted the only known successful cavalry charge on the game. ;)
