Hatsuharu Sketch

Sohma Hatsuharu is my favorite Fruits Basket character. He's the cow of the Zodiac and had a mild inferiority complex, but got over it. He actually got over it. My. I just like him a lot. So I thought I'd sketch him. His hair really gives new meaning to the phrase "cowlick"... yeesh... each layer goes in a *different* direction...

Oh, nice sketch! He's very recognizable. I like Haru a lot too. (My favorite at this point is Kazuma, though, Kyo's Shishou.)

Okay... I'll give. Kazuma is very cool, too. I guess I should have said "Of the Zodiac..." Shishou and Hatori seem to be the main adults at the moment. *giggles*.

Yes... I love Kisa a lot. It was startling to see her so much more grown up after reading her as a kitten...

One thing I love so much about manga like Fruits Basket (and TV like the kung fu drama I'm currently watching) is the way that it introduces lots of characters and they're all so uniquely themselves that they can be extrapolated. It seems so much easier to do with visual cues...

I loved *seeing* Kyo make rice balls, as I finally figured out how to *do* it from the anime. *laughter*

I can't quite bring myself to extrapolate the Fruits Basket characters that much, yet, nor any of the CLAMP ones. I took liberties with the edge characters in Bleach because I'd built a model that worked for me, though it also came from seeing so much other fanfic.

amberley sent me this great article about how fanfic uses that person modeling portion of the brain... it's very cool.
