I'm desperately flicking, when I should be amassing a huge amount of data to be distributed to everyone today. Okay. I've really only flicked one hour away. I had a meeting, and I've gotten a lot of thinking done and did a lot of code exploration yesterday and over the weekend that I needed to do. Still... pizza dough, bagel recipes, and LiveJournal I should *not* be doing...

Plus the mild regret at seeing the permanent accounts go by and knowing that I've already paid for two year's worth, so it seems silly to buy the permanent account at this moment, as on part-time salaries, it's not really money I can just throw away like that. Well, it could be and I know that if I asked John, he'd say yes, but I'd feel guilty.

Weird how feelings aren't always right.

Joan's even taking Jet for an extra hour this morning just so I can get things done... so I'd best be doing again.

Yeah, I kinda was jonesing for a permanent account too, and couldn't justify it while unemployed. I know the feeling.

Well, you could sell the time...

...to someone else. They say that you can transfer your purchased time, after all.

(I can see it, on eBay--"nearly two years of LiveJournal subscription, what am I bid?" :)

If the permanent account comes around after your two years is used up, it'll still cost the same, and you'll still have spent $60 more than you would have needed to, you know.

Oh, I know that, logically.

But there's also the fact that my 'real journal' is somewhere else, and this is only something I got for fun that really is more of a way to keep connected to people than to actually write down my days...

Yeah, I'm sad about the permanent journals. I /want/ to do it, but I can't justify it what with no actual income and none likely in the foreseeable future. :P

That's the same position I'm in.

My only consolation is the knowledge that perhaps they'll offer them again sometime, by which time I will have enough money that I can afford it.

It looks like it's a birthday deal, so that should happen again.
