Thoughtful Article

Here's a really thoughtful, calm article from Newsweek about Biblical messages about gay marriage as pointed out by a friend. Thanks!! I'd read it in the magazine and loved it, but it's cool to find it online, too.

And, yes, the United Church of Christ named in the article is my denomination.

Very good article. Thanks for the link. I sent it on to Irene. I know she'll love it.

I especially loved the comment about how we don't take leviticus advice on the price of slaves or how to sacrifice a chicken, why should we then use it for other out dated ideas.

I do worry though that minorities that have had to deal with prejudices and unequal rights for so many years are now turning around and perpetrating the same onto gays and lesbians.

Yeah, that's a big worry as well, that last paragraph, a lot of folks really do believe that with Obama getting the black vote out there was a more conservative backlash about the whole same-sex marriage thing.
