What about my sweet Hana-chan? Everyone has been running around and having badass fights, but Retsu, Isane, and Hanatarou still haven't done any fighting.

That's just me complaining. No, seriously, I think Stark is awesome and want him to fight for good, too. D: And the only good thing about seeing Ichigo is that I might see more 4th squad.-

I don't know. I might be missing something, but I don't see any reason for any of them to be all that thankful to Aizen. I wouldn't be surprised if someone flips. They are what they are, though.

They do!! It's interesting, because I'd have expected some to mismatch in order to find unseen advantages, but, yeah, they all do see matched to their counterparts. Maybe it's just easier for TK to track? Dunno...

Maybe Aizen lacks originality. After all, we've seen him borrow and expand on other people's research, but when have we actually seen him create something totally new? :)

I wondered if the story was wandering into a more Buddhist subtext, myself. But yeah, that's another thought. If Aizen does in fact = the Devil.

The same problem that Morgoth (also a devil figure) had in the Silmarillion, iirc. He could never actually create, only pervert, degrade, and corrupt.

Except that the Hollows seem capable of evolving into highly conscious, highly self-realized entities as we can see through Nel Tu and her sidekicks, and also with the backstory of Grimmjow and the hollows who voluntarily sacrificed themselves for him. These several examples of self-sacrifice leads me to believe they aren't just anomalies, and this isn't a strictly Manichean universe.

The fight!porn is getting tedious. Always these long stretches of whomping the smuck out of each other, interspersed with itsy-bitsy revelations of plot. I want to start to get a hint of where this is all going.

For awhile, what with the introduction of the Hollowfication subplot, the creation of the Vaizard race, and the nature of Aizen's particular bankai, I entertained thoughts that TK was getting into some really interesting and subtle terrain. The possibility that the Hollows seem to reflect aspects of Sereitei's hierarchy only in reverse and negatively---but for reasons other than keeping who fights whom straight, like maybe the Hollows are the castaway personalities of the Gotei 13---almost seems too good to be true. So when a captain like Byakuya slays Zommari, which is to say that he liberates the soul particles that created that espada, he is liberating the dark side of his own personality---but how does he go about re-integrating and disarming it, since it was his personality that may have been involved in the creation of that hollow in the first place? Anyway, that's what keeps me hooked to a story which, otherwise, is mostly about sooper-speshul powers and fighting.

Well, thanks for mentioning how Stark and Shunsei are so alike. The affectation of passivity and laziness made it seem pretty obvious, but I was starting to wonder if anyone noticed.

Well since we know Ichigo won't ever really die, I can wait to see Kyouraku and Stark fight, because Shunsui may be the strongest Shinigami, but that doesn't mean he can't die.

And just think about how many stories you could write by the time we get back to him. :D
