Spock stood alone under a strange, star-filled sky, knowing some were missing. He'd been rushed about to all of Earth's major cities, and Tokyo seemed little different than San Francisco, filled with humans.
An ancient shop drew his eye, still lit even so late. The wooden gates opened easily to his touch.
"Welcome." A woman on the porch with improbably long black hair that fell to the ground smoked from a long pipe.
Spock started, he thought he'd dreamed her offer before his jump. "You."
She smiled. "Was the trade fair?"
"Yes."
"Do you need another?"
"Not yet, but soon..."
