Suit on Me!

I couldn't get it small enough to be an icon and still be lookable. This is also a bit too small to bring out the pinstriping nicely. I was also a doofus and wore a dark purple, silk shirt, so the purple and silver tie just fades into it. I should probably wear a gray or even white shirt instead. The braces would stand out better, too. The silver chain does, indeed, have a silver pocket watch on the pocket end. *grin* I did get that right.

I agree on the shirt, though that one is a really pretty color. Silver gray, a lighter color than the suit, would be so nifty.

I hope my short rounded little body will let me wear one of those things well, because zoot suits are just so damn cool. Maybe when I've been working out for a year, hopefully that'll help. ^_^;

I'm wondering if any neighborhood alteration shops have the expertise to make a zoot suit look good on a woman. It's all in the tailoring, you know. Back in the day, there must have been some short rounded men with excellent tailors and stylish threads.

Zoots seem particularly well suited to rounder bodies. John's big, and he looks great in his suit. I don't know if it's the pinstriping or if it's just that everyone looks so darned *comfortable* in one of those things, but they seem to look good on everyone, especially when the color is what they want. I really had a hard time choosing between the silver, the purple, and the bright red one. But decided that for my first suit I may as well get one that I can colorize as I'd like.

Wow, really? That's cool, and makes me quite happy to hear. I'd have thought they look best with long lean lines, but maybe I'll give one a try at some point. I think there's a place in a local mall where I could try stuff on, though I'd ultimately like to order from where you got yours. As for color...man, I just dunno. I change my hair color so often that I'd clash with anything other than silver or black half of the time. But I like silver and black a great deal, so that wouldn't be such a horrible fate

Very nice... I just bought myself a nice Italian cut suit for when I have to go be "speaker to clients". Feels kind of odd after two years of dot com casual, but marypcb thinks it looks nice, and it goes well with the silver polished ammonite cufflinks...

Wow! You're both on here, too! How very keen! Yay for Italian cut suits with polished ammonite cufflinks! Yeah, they do feel kind of odd when I usually wear shorts and a t-shirt for work, but it's very nice, too.

Yes, we're recent converts - about two weeks in my case and less than 6 hours in Mary's... it was tigerbright who pointed me to your LJ... and rowanf was one of the people who convinced me to start using in the first place... the Nomad connection...
