Drabble: Warmth

As per my winter drabbles post.



"Kuro-tan!" Fai jumped up from a close conference with Sakura, as Kurogane and Syaoran came in the door.

Kurogane growled, "What? And stop calling me that."

"Look! Look what Sakura-chan has found for us! They are beautiful." Fai's smile looked fixed.

The cold in the country of Jade bit deep, and when Fai gave him mittens in seven shades from charcoal grey to deepest black, Kurogane tried them on. They were thick, comfortable, and soft, protecting Kurogane's scarred and aching hands. He sighed in relief.

"Thank you."

The smile that answered him was smaller, sadder, but it warmed Kurogane through.

Poot poppit. Fai always seems so sad. This was lovely darlin' thank you. nothing nicer than a heartfelt gift. I just wish Kurogane could put a real smile on Fai's lips. ;)
