I'm trying to wake up my Bleach muses again after a long hiatus... I'm wallowing about feeling useless because I can't seem to like anything I write by myself and I hate that feeling.

So I watched some anime after the beginning of the Hueco Mondo arc. )

*sniffle* I knew the journey had to end... but... man, what an amazing ending....

Okay, not really a review so much as a whole lot of fangirl squeeing.

Jet and I are done with Sakura and it was very satisfying to see all of it and understand that CLAMP can, indeed, write happy endings, too.  I was too traumatized by X1999, I think, and by some of the things happening in xxxHolic and Tsubasa RC.

I'm finding that Death Note is also a slower read.  I need to think through some of the things that happen, what I really think about them.

Watching Samuri Champloo is a kick. Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] r0ck3tsci3ntist, for introducing me to those two swordsmen and the wonderfulness that is Fuu. She's so sweet and strong and funny and smart. And, wow does Jin make a beautiful woman.

I've been watching Mushi-shi in slow, thoughtful pieces.  I can only handle one or two at a time. And they always make me want to paint again, as the backgrounds and villages that Ginko goes through are always so beautiful, so picturesque.

Meanderings about painting and dyeing ideas. )

Jet, a few months ago, decided that he couldn't watch the second Cardcaptor Sakura season because of one of the kids going "bad" as he puts it, and making all kind of trouble for Sakura herself.

But he's in tennis camp all week and by the time he gets home, he really wants to just sit and watch something.  And on Monday he said, "Mom!  Can we watch Sakura?  Please?!"

For mild spoilers of Sakura and comments and no spoilers about xxxHolic as well as Saiyuki. )

Jet said that he figured out why the Easter Bunny didn't leave any chocolate eggs in the basement.  He said that the bunny couldn't reach the light switch, and was afraid of the dark, so he didn't leave any in the basement.  But he couldn't figure out why the Easter Bunny didn't leave any eggs in the office or the bedrooms or the bathroom.   *laughter*

Watching the last of the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Bleach, ep 115-119.  Cut for really vague spoilers. )

Actually went outside yesterday, and did a ton of errands, got my shots, ran around and bought a bunch of things that I really have been wanting. Shelled out for the first two books of Fullmetal Alchemist, too many folks have been saying it's good for me to leave it; and also shelled out for GetBackers when I looked through the first seven books of One Piece and just couldn't get into it. Though I did *love* what I saw of Sanji.

I really enjoyed the sheer attitude in GetBackers.

More Manga and Anime stuff. I really *do* like the One Piece anime, it turns out... )

For some reason Kuchiki-taichou is just really fun to draw....

I have three boys running around the house entertaining each other. It's good to have play dates on holidays.

Cut for picture download. )

I'm sipping at Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, rather than gulping it down whole the way I did Bleach's first couple of arcs. The complexity and depth and... well, the half-mysteries of the episodes require greater processing, each on their own.

But I watch most of the opening sequence, and the aria from the opening resounds in my head, just a couple of measures play like a loop through my head. When I'm alone in the sanctuary of our church, prepping for stuff or other things, I find myself singing it as the acoustics in that room are just glorious.

Jet and I finished the first Sakura series with a bang. He and John went out to see the The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything, and then they came home, and played some more chess, and then Jet and I finished the series, unintentionally. We were only going to watch the usual four episodes, but then the last one ended right near the end and pulled in the last big plot poinker and both of us were like AGGGGGHHH!!

Very good agghh. Very satisfying agghhh, but still... another two episodes of aggggghhh!!

Very fun, though. I'd highly recommend the original Japanese series, that has a GIRL as the central character. I can't even imagine what the American version is like to have Sakura not be the central character... I'm probably never even going to look. One interesting side benefit is that Jet started reading the shorter subtitles for himself. He was quite motivated to read... :-)

The three of us went to the church to help undecorate, but the whole thing was bare of Christmas stuff when we arrived! Meep. I then did stuff for the class tomorrow, and wrestled with a recalcitrant copy machine. It was hard, but we eventually won. And I got my copies. Then I came home, read a bunch of stuff for the class and wrote a few things, and I'm happy I'm writing anything again.

The boys went to their movie while I worked on stuff, and then we watched Sakura and John's cheerfully roasting a chicken and watching football or something. *laughter* Ah... it's a Seahawks game. Awww, they're not doing very well.

I might go play Devil May Cry. I finally succumbed and went for the "Auto" mode after dying eight times against the first boss. The only thing is that in the Auto mode, I'm plowing through everything with just a little management of resources. Even that first boss only took one healing to get through on the first try. But now I get to do all the puzzles and stories and secret missions and stuff, so it's been pretty cool. I like the puzzles and going up against hordes of monsters and learning more about how Dante fights. At least, now, I don't feel like I'm failing him. *laughter*

Tomorrow, John has like five different things he has to do at church so we're not going to be home for a very, very long time, so I'm not feeling guilty, at all, for an all AV Saturday.
